[Katsuki will motion for her to follow, leading her out to the garden proper so she can appreciate it and all the cute lil animals.]

My best friend is like that but since he ain't here, I gotta replace him with somethin' else. Though... Todoroki kind of fills that hole too, these days.

[Rinku follows him out, scratching her head.]

He's definitely friendly, and sometimes soft! For cute and distracting... huh, I never thought about it like that, but I guess so. Then again, I get distracted by everyone. And everything. Oh, look at that!

[She giggles in glee at a bunny sniffing some grass and chewing on it.]

Pff.

[Katsuki lets out a small laugh at how easily distracted Rinku really was, and he moves to take a seat. As soon as he does, little Deku runs over and rubs against him and he gives him some good scritches!!]

Well... I think Todoroki's pretty cute. Like a puppy. Every time I walk in the room his heart beat starts to get excited and it makes me think of a dog's tail.

[God he's crushing so hard for this stupid boy... he can't hide the dumb grin on his face as he compares him to a dog.]

[Rinku crouches down and scatters some Creature Treats so the bunnies will come see. Some of them come to sniff and eat the treats, and one seems fascinated by the puff of fur at the end of her tail, which is swishing on the ground again. Girl gets distracted.]

Wow, really? That makes sense! After all, you two are really close. How do you manage if you can hear people's heartbeats and stuff all the time?

...I dunno. I guess it's just a vampire thing?

[That's a good question, honestly...]

It's how I knew you were in the kitchen. I suddenly heard your heart out of nowhere and it freaked me the fuck out.

Vampires can really do anything, huh? Except the stuff they can't do, I guess.

[Pet pet the little animals.]

So no one can sneak around when you're here either, huh?

[It's so annoying that there isn't a manual or something that just tells Katsuki what he can and can't do now that he's a vampire...]

Yeah. I'm a pretty damn good guardian of the place.

[He's so glad he's been turned into a vampire. Which is so weird since a couple weeks ago he was despairing about it like his life was ruined.]

No one can sneak up on me and I've got super strength and speed. If someone tries to seriously break in I could kill 'em with a good punch.

You're really getting used to it, huh? I guess 'cause you're so strong already. People change a lot, now that I think about it.

[Katsuki grins when Rinku points out that he's getting used to being a vampire, and he nods.]

At first I hated it, 'cuz it came with a lot of dark stuff I don't feel like getting into. But I've always prided myself in adapting to whatever's thrown at me. I mean... back home, I survived a fatal blow to my heart and fucked up my arm and I was still able to overcome my weaknesses and fight.

[...isn't it kind of funny how Rinku teleporting into Katsuki's home turned into the two having a nice and semi-deep conversation with each other?]

This is a walk in the park compared to that and I'm glad I stopped moping about it.

[Rinku smiles. She continues petting the bunnies and nods.]

I'd think it was pretty scary too. But if it ends up helping you, then I think that's good. If I turned into something else... I mean, I kinda did, but something else else. Like scary else. I dunno what I'd do, but probably try to be happy and figure things out as it went!

[Pause. She bites her lip and thinks.]

Do you just not go out in the sun now? I know sunscreen works for Hina-chan, but she's not a real vampire, she's a Zubat.

[boombam]

[If Rinku turned into a vampire... Katsuki can't even imagine it. This happy girl drinking blood. But he's sure she'd find a way to turn the situation into something good for her.

When she asks him about the sun, Katsuki looks up and squints at it. Using his hand to shade his eyes a little as he does.]

I've got about an hour before it starts to really burn. I know it's stupid, but I like the feeling of the sun on my skin and I try to sit out in it when I can.

[He has a cloak for when he's fighting and a hoodie with a long hood to wear while going on walks. But sometimes he still sits in the sun without any protection at all, like right now.]

Huh... That makes sense. It'd be pretty sad if you didn't get to be in the sun. It feels too nice not to.

[She giggles when a bunny sniffs her tail fur.]

I wonder if that sunscreen from Riki-san's helps any more than the normal kind? The one that gives you fire resistance.

[Katsuki hadn't thought of that...]

It'd be worth a shot. Better than having to wear a heavy ass hoodie all the time.

I think anything's worth trying! It might be kinda fun. What about when you're fighting? Do you just do it at night?

I've started to, yeah. It's been annoying switching my schedule around when I used to go to bed at eight, but it's also been pretty fruitful. Most people do crimes at night.

[At least he can see in the dark with both his Winter vision and his Vampire vision...]

I also got myself a cloak for the daytime. It goes with my Hero Costume.

Huh... You work hard all the time, huh? It makes sense 'cause you're always trying to be the best at everything.

Not trying. Succeeding.

But, yeah. Heroes can't slack for even a minute. There's always danger, somewhere. And now that my amputations healing up real good I can fight without any worries. So I've been doing as much as I can.

When's it gonna be fixed up? Or do you know yet? I guess medical stuff changes sometimes.

It should be healed up by August. That's when I'm having the new arm installed.

[SOON...]

Just a couple of months and I'll be able to punch people with both hands again!

Yeah! Go, Katsuki-kun, go! I bet you'll be able to do all kinds of stuff! Have you been doing quests and stuff lately?

I have. Chipp made me some really cool armor for my amputation, so I can go out on the battlefield without any worries!

[It has spikes on it and he can kill stuff with it!!]

As much as he pisses me off, Chipp's been pretty helpful since he lost his arm too.

Did he embarrass you or something? He kinda does that.

[Scritches for bunnies.]

[Katsuki picks up Deku to plop in his lap. Petting him gently as he complains.]

I told him that I've been feeling kind of... weird about Todoroki lately. And he went on that stupid Pride thing and interrogated Todoroki about his own feelings. Trying to get him to think he has a crush on me or somethin'.

[roundandaround]

Huh... I dunno, aren't asking about someone's feelings and trying to make them feel something different? Maybe he was trying to figure out if he did. It's still embarrassing, I guess.

[She tilts her head and keeps petting the bunnies.]

Maybe he thinks he's helping. Like there's someone I care about a lot here, who I know would be a lot happier if he found someone to love again. And since he's the kinda person who only wants to be with-with one other person, not like me, I was trying to find someone who's like all the things I know he likes.

It's embarrassing and it's meddling. I don't like it when people shove their nose where it doesn't belong.

[If there's a universe out there where he and Shoto could maybe express feelings for each other and maybe, perhaps, start dating... Katsuki wants it to be completely natural. Nothing weird or forced or other people trying to shove them together like dolls--]

I hope the guy you're trying to help ain't like me. Because even if it seems well intentioned, having someone trying to set me up with someone would piss me off too. It's better if it happens naturally.
