Katsuki was born to two parents named Mitsuki and Masaru Bakugo. Mitsuki is a fiery, loudmouthed woman who swears like crazy and gets her way by being forward and threatening. Her husband, Masaru, is meek and gentle. A pushover who was easily intimidated into dating and eventually marrying Mitsuki. Both of them were born with Quirks-- biological super powers that awaken around the age of four. Mitsuki's sweat was infused with glycerin, keeping her skin glowing and young looking. And Masaru's quirk was the ability to make explosions when he clapped his hands together. Nothing too crazy, but destructive enough that he barely uses it. Together, these Quirks melted into something no one could have predicted. It created a new Quirk called Explosion. And the little boy that Quirk was given to? Would turn out to be just as explosive as his super power.
Katsuki's Quirk, Explosion, is really two Quirks into one (which no one talks about for some reason??) His sweat is infused with nitroglycerin, an extremely explosive material that goes off if it reaches a certain temperature or is set on fire. This sweat seems to mostly congregate into the palms of his hands, as he's able to summon sweat out of his hands even if he's not currently sweating. But the rest of his sweat has nitroglycerin infused as well, leaving him smelling like burnt sugar.
The other part to his Quirk is his palms-- they're able to heat up to intense degrees, controlling the size of his explosions with how hot he makes his hands and the amount of sweat he can secrete. Thus, his Quirk is directly tied to his hands. He has amazing upper body strength and muscles in his arms and chest from having to deal with the blowback from his explosions. Like a gun, every time he makes an explosion it gives him recoil. And if he uses his Quirk for too long, his arms start to cramp and seize up. He's recently been able to awaken his Quirk to it's full potential, and is about as powerful as four or five rocket ships I'd say. His explosions are more like beams of fire when they're at the most intense. At the least intense, his hands crackle and pop little sparks.
After an intense battle in a large, and painful war, it's left Katsuki battered and broken. His arm had been crushed completely, every bone broken and the skin had been torn open in many places. His face was ripped open and needed large stitches, leaving a deep scar that looks like a heartbeat across his cheek. And his heart itself technically shouldn't be beating. It had a hole blown right through the middle of it, and he had almost died. He had to have a Hero, with a Quirk that helped him shrink and stretch his body, perform CPR from inside of his chest. The Hero wrapped his body around his heart and physically pumped it for as long as he needed to. Katsuki wasn't responding well at first, but a bead of his own sweat managed to drip inside and ignite with his last breath of desperation. Essentially: he made a little explosion in his own chest that restarted his own heart and gave it it's heartbeat back. I love anime logic.
After that, he was able to fight with his newly awakened Quirk and helped end the big bad and end the war he was in. Right after Katsuki posed like All Might and passed out, before he could be taken off of the battle field and to a hospital, is when he wakes up in Seasons. Everything healed, but his right arm unable to be moved. In canon, he's given the option to rehabilitate or amputate and chooses to rehabilitate. So I wanted to go the other route, and amputate in Seasons. Thus, I have his arm not working as it was healed before the rehabilitation process could be done and basically useless. I love rp logic.
Katsuki has turned 18, and on May 1st he had his right arm amputated. Now, he's just waiting until he's healed enough to get his new arm hooked up. It's automail, created for him by Winry from Fullmetal Alchemist.

impressions.
visual. katsuki is a very pretty boy, despite all the ugly faces he makes. he's not short, but also not tall either. and he's very muscular especially in his upper body. he has scars all over his body: on his face he has one that looks a bit like a heartbeat thanks to large stitches that kept his cheek closed. on his chest and back there's a scar over his heart that looks like a large gunshot wound. his back and shoulder have a couple more scars that look like holes, that go through the front. smaller than the main one. and his right arm is covered from shoulder to fingers in scars from large and small rips and tears in his skin and muscle. he also has one more of those holes in his thigh.
demeanor. katsuki used to be much, much louder but has since calmed down a little. hes still got a huge temper and is easy to anger and get yelling, but his default state is more deadpan and a quiet anger that dares to be poked at. when you're close to him, he's far less angry and far far more quiet.
vocals. i play from translations and subs, so my voice for katsuki is his japanese voice actor nobuhiko okamoto. his voice for katsuki is very high pitched and whiny when he gets loud and angry. when he's quiet, its lower and smooth but still has a boyish tone to it. here is a perfect clip of his voice loud and angry, and even crying. this performance made me fall in love with katsuki <3
scent. as mentioned before, his sweat is infused with nitroglycerin. i headcanon that every part of him is because of it (like his blood and other such things) and nitroglycerin has this sweet, yet burnt smell to it that has been described as burnt sugar. so he smells overwhelmingly like that. like a cookie that's been in the oven a little too long, but not long enough that it's off putting. he also tastes like that, too.
talents. katsuki is naturally very smart and able to strategize and solve puzzles quick and usually in a useful way. he also is very, very fast and physically strong. on top of that, he's a pro at cooking and baking and aces every test. he's also a very proficient hacker, for some reason. (thanks ovas) he's decent at speaking english, and can probably say a few key words in a few different languages (hello, thank you, no, yes, etc etc). he's starting to paint explosions in seasons and he's very talented at playing drums (took classes as a kid to try and help with his anger issues) and he's good at singing (spends time alone singing to whatever he's listening to at the time). he and todoroki are forming a small band with the two of them.
